Biography

Will Scott graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal College of Music (RCM) where he studied classical and jazz guitar. He has won numerous awards and prizes; winner of the 2014 mid-Kent Young Musician of the Year, 2018 RCM guitar prize, finalist for Antwerp Guitar Festival and was awarded a place on the Young Artist Platform for the International Guitar Foundation. 

He has a diverse portfolio and is enthusiastic about exhibiting brand new music. In 2019, Will premiered William Lovelady’s “Passing Time” at Kings Place. He has also performed new contemporary guitar works at the National Portrait Gallery and premiered a commissioned piece for the Meraki Guitar Quartet as part of RCM International women’s day. His playing was also used for a BBC documentary about the Portuguese artist, Paula Rego.

His career has seen him play at the International Guitar Festival in London, as well as performances at venues such as South Bank Centre, V&A museum, Albert Hall and Drapers' Hall. He has also played in productions of musicals across London, including West Side Story, Sister Act, Billy Elliot and We Will Rock You and has played with the RCM Big Band and Kings College London Swing Band.

Will is currently the guitar tutor of electric, bass, and classical guitar at St Augustine’s Priory, London, and Lingfield College, Surrey. 

He plays a Cedar Juan Hernandez and a Spruce Angelo Vailati guitar.
